U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says there are "very real gaps" in the west's negotiations with Iran on the fate of its nuclear program... boosting the likelihood that a pact will not be reached by the July 20th deadline.
America's top diplomat has been engaged in talks with his Iranian counterpart, joined by the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany in Vienna... to curb Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for ending sanctions. Kerry said negotiations will continue at least through Sunday.
The main sticking point is Iran's nuclear enrichment program, which Tehran has maintained it needs to make nuclear fuel and said it intends to expand. The U.S. wants to cut it, fearing it could be used to manufacture the core of nuclear missiles.
