Golestan Passage in Shahrak Gharb is one of Tehran's shopping centers with authentic and old Iranian architecture, which is not much similar to other modern passages of the capital. This shopping center is located in an area of ​​6,000 square meters, and its exterior and interior are three-inch bricks. Golestan Passage includes 187 business units on three floors and 82 booths for the bazaar. The interior part of the passage is designed in such a way that if you go around the shops of this complex, you will come back to the same starting point.
Golestan Passage building is located in an L shape between two western and eastern courtyards. In these courtyards, which are a good hangout for visitors to talk and relieve their fatigue, special food stalls host arcade enthusiasts. The standard design of Golestan Passage has maintained the commercial and social importance of this center after several decades. Also, this shopping center has three floors of parking.
The model of the Golestan commercial center is taken from the American out-of-town shopping malls, which, according to Kamran Diba, are also inspired by the architecture of the inward-looking Iranian markets. In such markets, the stores do not have a view from the outside. In the original design of the building, the first and second floors followed a single pattern with square windows, and the arches on the ground floor were shaped like chamfered squares.
