Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day on Wednesday (November 27, 2024). In the Rajya Sabha, the Chair rejected all of the 18 adjournment motions on various issues. After the Opposition protested the Chair’s move to decline the suspension of the day’s business, the Upper House was adjourned till 11:30 a.m., and later for the day. The Lok Sabha, on the other hand, saw protests from the Opposition members on the issue of Gautam Adani’s indictment in the U.S. After the House convened at 11, it was adjourned till 12 p.m., after a brief beginning. After the House reassembled, when the protests did not subside, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day.

Congress MPs Manickam Tagore, Randeep Singh Surjewala and Manish Tewari moved adjournment notices in this regard before the commencement of the session today.

The Congress said that it will launch protests, both inside and outside Parliament, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi against the alleged indifference of the Union government to providing assistance to victims and survivors of the July 30 landslides in the mountainous district of Wayanad.
