F Major 7: Play 5X Songs With Chord Power

Hey there, I’m Tomas Michaud from Real Guitar School and TomasMichaud.com. Today, you’re gonna learn the F major 7th and I’m gonna also review the Major 7 chords that we did in the previous lessons in the series. This is my Chord Power Series and I’m gonna help you learn to play at least double the amount of songs that you’re playing just by learning more chords and I encourage you to do a little bit each week and include some more chords in your vocabulary.

F major 7 it’s actually the easiest of the chords I think. It’s just three fingers, skip the first string that’s actually the 7th open E, first finger first fret second string, second finger third string second fret and my third finger that’s on the third fret, fourth string - F major 7. Now I’m gonna avoid the fifth string. We actually hit it, it can be part of the chords okay just not the best base note and the same with the low E. It could be a part of the chord but it doesn’t really sounds great as the base note so I’m aiming for the top fourth string.
