Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai accused the DMK of engaging in "cheap politics" over the tungsten mining issue in Madurai's Arittapatti. He claimed the project was initially agreed upon by the state government for the benefit of local communities. Highlighting the BJP’s commitment, Annamalai stated that the concerns of the locals had been conveyed to the Central government, and a meeting with Union Ministers is scheduled on December 12. He also criticized the DMK government for inconsistency and political opportunism.
