In 1994, ABC brought Stephen Kings horror novel The Stand to the small screen in the form of a four-episode miniseries. The Stand cast featured a couple of major 1980s movie stars like Rob Lowe and Molly Ringwald. Check out who else was part of The Stand miniseries cast.
The story of The Stand begins when a military-designedsupervirus is accidentally spread among the general public. The result is apocalyptic and nearly all of the worlds entire population falls victim to the superflu. The few scatteredsurvivors, via their dreams, are either lured to the evil side of Randall Flagg or are steered to the good path by Mother Abigail. The Stand characters then launch into a legendarybattle between good and evil.
CBS All Access is bringing The Stand back to the small screen in 2019 in what appears to be a 10-hour limited series.
