The 30th Summer Universiade is held in Naples, Italy, between 3 and 14 July 2019. supposedly to be hosted in Brasilia, Brazil, but had been withdrawn from hosting the event, citing financial problems. FISU reopens the bidding process in 2014, and later re-attributed the games to Naples in 5 March 2016.
The 2019 Universiade commemorated 60 Years after Turin, Italy hosted the inaugural Summer Universiade in 1959.
Around 6,000 athletes from 118 nations took part in the 2019 Universiade, which contested in 18 sports and 222 medal events.
