In the class which this teaser is advertising, Joseph Caley teaches through Ali’s famous solo from the Pas de Trois of Medova, Ali and Konrad which is found in Le Corsaire Act II.
Made famous by Rudolph Nureyev when he danced this solo in 1962 as part of the Le Corsaire pas de deux between Medora & Ali which he performed opposite Margot Fonteyn, Ali’s variation is now one of the most popular solos for the male classical dancer and appears regularly in competitions and galas around the world, usually within the framework of the Le Corsaire pas de deux, as was the case with Fonteyn & Nureyev.
Joseph has danced this role extensively throughout his career and also before he became a professional he performed it at prestigious competitions including the Prix de Lausanne and the Adeline Genée. With this extensive experience, Joseph shares his personal tips for how to master this demanding solo.
