Researchers used Diamond Light Source and the Advanced Light Source to study chiroptical effects of polymer thin films. They found that in their experiments, chirality came from magneto-electric coupling, which is a natural optical activity. This study presents a new way of looking at chirality in thin polymer films that are important for electronics.
