Malverde: El Santo Patrón:
At the age of six, Jesús Malverde witnesses how the “federales” shoot his father, commanded by Herminio Quiñones, a young military man of Spanish origin against whom Malverde will battle when he grows to becomes the leader of a group of bandits that steal from the corrupt like Quinones to help the poor.

Malverde’s only bond of affection is with the Aguilar’s, who are like family to him. Nazario Aguilar, the eldest son, becomes his lieutenant in the gang and Isabel Aguilar, Nazario’s sister, will be the great love of Jesus’s life. They will share a love as intense as it is impossible.

Jesus’s mother takes him to live with her family, the Yoreme tribe. It’s with the Yoremes that Jesus learns to heal with herbs, a talent which will later contribute to his legend as a miraculous healer.
Jesus is also a great seducer of women. They fall in love with his mysterious and charming manner. Jesus will continue through his life as a ladies’ man leaving behind a trail of angry and jealous husbands, who will try to have him killed on several occasions.

The authorities will see in Malverde an increasing danger due to the initial revolts that will give rise to the Mexican Revolution and accuse him of being a subversive element.

From the action-packed scenes to the many love affairs and captivating wardrobe of the era, this never-before-told story set in the early 1900s will enthrall viewers as they discover the man behind the legend and determine whether he was a saint or a bandit.
