Ducati 1199 Panigale-
The Ducati 1199 Panigale was a 1,198 cc Ducati sport bike introduced at the 2011 Milan Motorcycle Show. The motorcycle is named after the small manufacturing town of Borgo Panigale. Ducati had announced a larger displacement 1,285 cc 1299 Panigale for the 2015 model year.

The new 1299 Panigale is breathtakingly stylish and is guaranteed to blow your mind away. The new Superquadro engine with 116mm bore is all about that 205 bhp of pure adrenaline, 145 Nm of stunning torque. State-of-the-art electronics ensure maximum control with the Bosch Inertial Platform. Ducati Quick Shift, both fast and precise, even for downshift.

mould-breaking motorcycle. Apart from the colour and the noise it makes, the Panigale S has nothing in common with Ducati superbikes of old. The chassis is ‘frameless’, there’s a new-generation ‘superquadro’ engine and it comes with the latest electronic rider aids, which work. Producing a claimed 195bhp and weighing 188kg, wet, it has a fearsome power-to-weight ratio, but is remarkably easy to ride. Gone is the out-going 1198’s excess of almost uncontrollable torque and in is a smooth power curve and a searing top end. Like Ducatis of old its super-stable in fast corners, but now it steers as fast as a Japanese superbike. It’s a very clever motorcycle and very, very good.

BMW S1000RR-
The S1000RR is BMW’s flagship super sport motorcycle which has been completely overhauled for 2019. The most prominent aspect of the 2019 BMW S1000RR is the twin LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs that replace the distinctive asymmetrical headlamps on its predecessor. The frame which BMW calls the ‘Flex Frame’ is completely new and is basically an aluminium twin-spar chassis with trellis sub-frame. The chassis uses a lighter steering head and engine mounts with the engine as a stressed member.

This engine is a newly-developed 999cc, inline-four cylinder motor. The motor produces 204bhp at 13,500rpm and 113Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. The unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with bi-directional quick shifter as standard. It also features BMW’s ShiftCam technology which adjusts valve timings and strokes on the intake side.

BMW always loads their motorcycles up with electronic wizardry and the S1000RR is no different. The motorcycle is equipped with a full-colour TFT instrument console that is Bluetooth-enabled. It also gets dynamic traction control system, hill-start assist, Shift Assist Pro, adjustable engine braking, six-axis IMU, wheelie control, launch control and ABS.

In terms of dimensions, the 2019 S1000RR is narrower and weighs 1.3kg lesser. And with a wheelbase of 1,441mm and width of 848mm, it is also longer and wider than the previous model. BMW has also lowered the seat height to 824mm from 826mm. Furthermore, the 2019 S1000RR is a whole 11kg lighter than before thanks to lighter engine parts and exhaust system.

The 2019 BMW S1000RR is available in two colour options and three packages- standard, Pro and Pro M Sport. These trims differ from each other in terms of the equipment and electronic aids they offer. In India, the S1000RR competes against the Yamaha YZF R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Ducati Panigale V4 and the Aprilia RSV4.
BMW S 1000 RR Overview
BMW made a grand entry into the litre-class sports bike segment when it rode in the S 1000 RR in 2009. Even though the German bikemaker had no experience of making sports bikes, its S 1000 RR made a smashing entry as it even won every major sports bike comparisons. The bike was updated to adhere to the new Euro 4 emission norms and launched in India when BMW Motorrad officially entered the Indian two-wheeler space. The BMW S 1000 RR is on sale in in two trims - the stock version, that has been priced at Rs 18.9 lakh and the Pro that costs Rs 21.4 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). In India, the BMW S 1000 RR faces competition from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR, Yamaha R1 and R1 M, Aprilia RSV4 and the Ducati 1299 Panigale.
