Following an extensive period away from the camera due to a holiday abroad and the June amber fire risk protocol being implemented across the mainline network, it was finally time to head back out to see what was on offer. We're now approaching the peak summer steam season and with an unseasonably wet July so far, steam operations are back to their normal state of running and no heavy rear end assistance would be required.....well almost !
The footage in this video is not as extensive as I would of liked as I've got other things going on away from the camera so it would only be a few locations for each tour. Four excursions are captured in the space of four days, it could of been more but an awful weather forecast in the North West of England for the Saturday put an end to those plans. Anyway, Royal Scot, British India Line, Leander and Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe all feature. Our favourite scenes were from Royal Scot and Leander which both put on a great display. Less said about the big powerful Merchant Navy 35018 which needed a big shove out of Carlton On Trent Loop as it rejoined the 125mph East Coast Mainline. The video finishes with 5043 on the Shakespeare Express. Oh and there's a nice bonus at the end !
Our attention will now turn to the South West of England towards the latter end of month with some promising action to had. I hope you enjoy the video.
