Robin Gibb's son RJ receives a standing ovation following the World Premier Performance of his and his father's Titanic Requiem at Westminster Central Hall in London, 10 April 2012. Robin himself was still in hospital, too sick to attend. He would, however, have been justifiably proud of the rapturous reception of this magnificent work. As the performance was recorded and simultaneously streamed over the internet he may well have been watching from his hospital bed.

It was a very moving evening. Because of Robin's absence a recording of the song Don't Cry Alone was played, to dimmed lights and silent orchestra, as it finished the entire audience arose to give a standing ovation, showing their love, appreciation and hope for Robin's return to health.
Technical difficulties prevented the much heralded hologram performances from making an appearance. However, this failure had no great effect and no doubt they will be spliced into the final edited version of this premier.
It is a magnificent and very moving choral work equivalent to the finest orchestral movie soundtracks, and a stunning debut classical piece from Robin and RJ Gibb. Buy it !
