China announced it will resume issuing nearly all types of visas for foreigners, including for tourism, starting on March 15, 2023, taking another step in the country’s emergence from its strict zero-Covid controls. It will also resume accepting previously granted visas that are still valid, and allow regional visa-free entry for foreigners travelling to Hainan Island, cruise ships that stop in Shanghai, foreign tour groups travelling into Guangdong from Hong Kong and Macau, and Southeast Asian tour groups travelling to Guilin, Guangxi province, China’s embassy in the US said in a statement.
