I cannot express how important it is for you to have ALL of your documents together ahead of time when applying for Returning Residents Status. If you’ve no choice but to provide Jamaica Customs with a Head of Household letter to establish Jamaica residency, please get this, as well as one of their utility bills, ahead of time. Also remember, if you do not have a Jamaican Passport you must have an unconditional landing stamp in your foreign passport in order to be granted Returning Residents Status…there is no way around it. That said do this on your next visit to Jamaica by going to the PICA office in Kingston.

If all of your documents are together at the time you submit your application, this process will go very smoothly and is very quick.
