The Eglinton Crosstown, soon to be known as TTC Line 5 - Eglinton, is a new light rail line that will travel along and underneath Eglinton Avenue from Mount Dennis Station in Etobicoke to Kennedy Station in Scarborough. 76 cars, #6200-6275, will operate in two-car sets in regular service and up to three-car sets in peak periods. The Bombardier Flexity Freedom is a custom design derived from the popular Bombardier Flexity product line used around the world and also in the TTC's streetcar fleet. The main differences between the Metrolinx Flexity and the TTC Flexity is the doors on both sides and hostler controls on the Metrolinx cars - there is no cab on one end, much like the TTC Flexity fleet, but the cars can be moved and coupled/uncoupled from the added seating area where a cab would normally be found. Two-car trainsets can be made by coupling up the non-cab ends of two cars; three-car trainsets would be the same but with an additional car added with the non-cab end coupled to one of the cab ends of the two-car consist.
In the video, we have a two-car training car consist heading westbound at Eglinton Avenue West and Hakimi Avenue (north side of the street) and Lebovic Avenue (south side of the street), about to pass through the Hakimi/Lebovic Station.
