I was charged with much affectionate emotion by seeing my dear old friend PS Emmylou again, for the first time since hugely enjoying a 3-night cruise aboard her back in 1990 under the watchful eye of the irrepressible Joy Needs back then.
Here, I'm aboard PS Pevensey about to take a 1-hour cruise and I was delighted to see Emmylou paddling by.
Although built in the mid-1980s with metal hull, she's been constructed to very closely resemble traditional working steam paddlers on the Murray river and she's powered by a 1906 steam engine that's fuelled by red gum logs. Wonderful wonderful ship.
