Fused Clapton coils have a central core made of 2 parallel wires, with a 3rd wire filament wrapped around the core. The surface area of a clapton coil is exponentially greater than regular coils, and the flavor is incredible. This isn't your granny's E Cigarette this is a full on advanced drippers flavor dream. Oh and they produce huge clouds. A very intense vape, I highly recommend if you've not got a set of claptons....get some! These coils do draw much higher amperage (power flow rate) due to the greater surface area of metal. So the battery must work extra hard to heat these coils up. As a result they are a very taxing demand to vape on a single 18650 mech mod. The mod gets very hot, the battery gets very hot. They don't heat up quickly on single metal tube mods and so are rarely used by cloud chasers. However they are very popularly used on unregulated box mods with 2+ batteries in series or parallel, and also higher wattage regulated box mods where you can deliver a set wattage of power into the build. for example I vape these claptons on my IPV3 or Sigelei at 100+ watts and the mod delivers plenty of power to ramp up the coils quickly for a very intense powerful vape.
