Multiple large companies have received notices from the Goods and Services Tax department in the form of demand notices this year. The latest ones are Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance and Infosys. The GST department had sent M&M a notice, questioning why it shouldn’t pay GST for letting its group companies use the ‘Mahindra’ brand name.
