In this update of my Larch bonsai and my Ficus benjamina Penjing I have a look at how my larch has done over winter and spring. Its greened up well over spring and is fully covered in fresh needles, however a few of the branch tips did die over winter and have a black sooty powder on them, so I will have to keep an eye on it incase it has a fungal infection which may spread to more branches.
My Penjing style Ficus benjamina bonsai is doing well after its hard root prune and wiring earlier in the year. IN this video I remove the wires which have started to dig into the bark and replace them with new longer wires as well as carrying out some minor pruning to keep the new branches shorter and to encourage more side branches to develop.
