The Bulgarian Navy's second Multipurpose Modular Patrol Vessel (MMPV) was launched on December 13, 2024, at the MTG Dolphin Shipyard in Varna, marking a major milestone in Bulgaria’s naval modernization efforts. These versatile vessels, built in partnership with NVL Group, will enhance Bulgaria’s maritime security and operational capabilities in the Black Sea. Designed for a range of missions including maritime surveillance, anti-surface warfare, and search and rescue, the MMPVs are equipped with advanced radar, modular weapons systems, and support for unmanned systems. The successful launch underscores Bulgaria’s commitment to strengthening its naval presence in the strategically important Black Sea region, a vital area for both national defense and NATO interests.
