A significant stride towards enhancing connectivity in the Eastern Sector of the Indo-China border, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has accomplished 90 per cent of the construction work on the strategically crucial Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh. According to BRO officials, "Border Roads Organization (BRO) is engaged in the construction works of tunnels. The tunnel, once operational, will provide all-weather access for the people of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. The Sela Tunnel, upon completion, will stand as the world's longest bi-lane tunnel, situated at an elevation of over 13,000 feet. Positioned 400 meters below the Sela Pass, the tunnel will enable year-round passage, even during winter. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the Sela Tunnel on February 9, 2019, and construction commenced on April 1, 2019."
