chris gower motivational speaker Hi, my name's Chris Gower. How are you? When I was into my addiction with cocaine, I would often go missing. I would use and I would go missing. If I was out with my friends, I would often, if we was in a different town, different city, I would often walk off. Walk off, didn't know where I was, didn't know where I was going, charged up. It was like you are on an autopilot, and you're back in the situation that you was the last time that you used. My friends would be constantly ringing me, I'd ignore the phone. And I was just being guided by the cocaine, and what was going on in my head. I put my friends through hell from our nights out because it always got to the case of, "Where's Gower?" It's slightly uncomfortable to talk about it now but I think it's necessary. It wasn't always when I was with my friends that I was going missing, I would say to my Mrs that I was going down the shop, I would pick up a wrapped cocaine, use, and then go missing. Many times that I would just walk, end up in woods, end up in wasteland, on my own, out of my nut. Phone would be ringing, ignore it. I never knew where I was going. I never knew what my destination was meant to be. I was just guided by my coked-up head. Now that has it's dangers. I mean, really with physical dangers as well as relationships. I mean, if your friends can't get hold of you, they ring your Mrs. If your Mrs can't get old of you, they ring your parents, if that is the setup that you've got. It's a total selfish way of making people worry and putting yourself in harm's way, and I did that numerous times. I had no control over it, the minute that I used cocaine, that was where I went to at the end of my addiction. It was no longer the fun and the jovial, having a laugh, and having a beer with your mates. It was isolating, it was run on upsetting people. And there was no control over that, all right? Be careful with cocaine because you can quite easily lose everything before you get chance to stop. Change your ways, learn from where you've been, and where you need to go. It's a very isolating and greedy drug that can pull relationships apart, and it can put you in physical harm. Thanks for listening.
