The East Lancashire Railways Summer gala had a variety of traction from their home fleet and guest locomotives, also for the first time a freight train with tickets available to ride on the brake vans. The day began very well with a look around the class 28 and the class 40 hauled freight train passing by. After that not everything went to plan for me, a points failure delayed the return of the freight train I was waiting to see pass Summerseat so I caught the next passenger service which would enable me to change trains for class 37 haulage, however an incident on the train resulted in me having a much longer ride on the class 20 and a bit of class 68 haulage instead. Overall a good day out though with plenty of whistling EE haulage.
