In this video I try out a brand of paint that I've never tried before called Shuttle Art Metallics that I found on Amazon when looking for metallic acrylic paints. After trying them, I'd give them an overall rating of about 7/10.
Pros:
- Beautiful pigmented metallic colors
- Seems pretty durable. If a paint is a poor quality it can sometimes start to wipe off when remove the guide marks even if it's completely dried. This one did not.
- Dried quickly
- Gorgeous shine!
- Even though the consistency is on the thicker size for dotting, it was easy to work with!
Cons:
- Consistency straight out of the bottle works well for small dots or "walking the dots" and swooshes. For larger dots the paint is a bit thick and leave "peaks". It needs to be thinned down with a flow medium.
- It left some little bubbles. This could have been from the mixing processes. When paint it mixed it can sometimes get little bubbles.
- It's a little on the pricer size. I wouldn't call this paint cheap by any means. The set I got comes with 20 colors and averages out to about $1.60 per bottle which is more than most DecoArt Americana Paints. But the color range I feel is better than DecoArt's metallics.
- Didn't come with yellow
