"Hi, I'm Keith Paige. I'm a plastic surgeon at the Polyclinic.
I was inspired to go into medicine at a very young age. It was really my father. He was a dermatologist and seeing the passion that he had for his profession, as well as the positive impact he made on his patients' lives, sort of got me started on that road that eventually led me to The Polyclinic.
I graduated from Stanford University and then went to the east coast for medical school at Harvard University. I stayed in Boston for another six years, training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in general surgery, and then went down to Atlanta to train at Emory University in plastic surgery. After that, I went to the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia and did a craniofacial fellowship. And then from there, came out to the Northwest. Initially, I worked at the Virginia Mason Medical Center for about 14 years and nine of which I was the chief of their section of plastic surgery. After that, I joined The Polyclinic.
As a physician owned and operated group, it really first provided me the freedom to focus on my patients' needs and also to really refine my craft. I certainly have an area of expertise in breast reconstruction, but I see a wide range of patients all the way from mid-20s through late 70s and even early 80s nowadays. The range of things that I do is everything from cosmetic surgery and an effort to try and enhance an individual's quality of life. Many of the patients that I see are women in their journey of cancer, and that can either be right after a diagnosis, as they're trying to plan the proper treatments for taking care of their cancer to some women who've already had their cancer taken care of and even have had reconstructions, but are not happy with the reconstructions or would like to explore other options for a more natural-looking and feeling reconstruction.
I am truly passionate about my work, but when I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis, and watching the Seahawks, especially when they're winning.
As a plastic surgeon, my passion is to provide compassionate care and technical expertise to produce the highest quality outcomes. And I think this is done by involving the patient as a partner in their treatment. And that involves informing patients, inquiring as to what their goals are, advising them as to what the options are, and then standing with them throughout their journey. Until at the end, we provide the best outcome possible."
