We always get asked - what grit sandpaper do you use??
We start with 40grit on the BIG MACHINE belt sander for the initial rough sanding. Next we will punch and fill all the exposed nails. We then move onto 60grit followed by 80grit. To get a smooth finish we will finish with a combo of 60/80/100 grit using the American Sanders Epoch (however if you don’t have this machine you can finish with 100/120 on the big machine).
All that’s left now is coating with our favourite varnish - Berger Seidle water based polyurethane in a NordicWhite look.
