Returning stars such as 250cc rookie Chad Reed, 2000 125cc champ Travis Pastrana, Stephane Roncada, Mike LaRocco, Ernesto Fonseca, Nathan Ramsey, Ezra Lusk, 250cc Motocross Sophomore Sean Hamblin, 2002 MX runner-up Tim Ferry, Nick Wey, Sebastien Tortelli, Larry Ward, David Vuillemin, Kevin Windham, Kyle Lewis, John Dowd, and 3-time defending champ Ricky Carmichael battle it out for the 2003 Chevy Trucks 250cc Motocross Championship. This series features a season long battle between Honda riders Ricky Carmichael and (the rejuvenated) Kevin Windham. This is the rookie 250cc Motocross series for Chad Reed and Ernesto Fonseca, and also features the return of Kevin Windham after injuring his femur at the 2002 Atlanta Supercross. Ricky Carmichael goes for 19 consecutive overall wins after sweeping the 2002 Motocross Championship. After racing the first 4 rounds in the 125cc class, Team Suzuki's Stephane Roncada switches to the 250cc class and podiums in his first 250cc race of the season. Team Yamaha's Tim Ferry wins his first (and only) moto of the 2003 season in moto #1, only to DNF moto #2 due to a crash and have a fire come out of his exhaust while he was trying to start his 4-stroke.
