This exercise of multiple paintings at once, moving very quickly, and often with a limited palette is a regular for my art practice. It starts with one piece of large paper masked off into multiple squares, and then painting without planning or having an agenda. You discover lots of new things, and also some things you don’t care for. All of these get logged into your art brain and come out later when you are working on paintings where you do have an agenda. Have you tried this? What did you think about it?
