Looking for the perfect winter mountain getaway!? We might be a little biased because we’ve been so many times, but Breckenridge is one of our favorite places to spend time in the winter or honestly all year round. We are lucky enough to have made many trips to Colorado to spend time in Breckenridge! This year we got to celebrate Christmas in beautiful and snowy Colorado! While we didn’t go skiing like we had originally planned to do, we ended up having tons of fun with other winter activities like dog sledding and snowshoeing!

After many trips to Breck we have accumulated quite the list of recommendations! Below are some of our favorite places to go and things to do in Breckenridge no matter what season you go.

Restaurants:
- Blue River Bistro: great happy hour, a little more expensive, amazing food, has live music certain nights
- Giampietro Pasta & Pizza: very good pizza and Italian food
- Michael’s: good Italian food, family friendly
- The Canteen: casual, nice patio, great drinks, perfect place for lunch or a casual dinner
- Ollie’s pub and grill: casual, sports bar like atmosphere
- Columbine Cafe: yummy breakfast
- Crêpes à la cart: famous for their delicious crepes, worth waiting in line
- Mi Casa: good Mexican restaurant
- Gold Pan Saloon: good casual brunch
- Ember: great dinner, more upscale, delicious food, fun atmosphere
- La Francaise: cute French bakery with amazing pastries
- The Crown: good coffee shop and place to hang out and people watch

Bars:
- Rocky Mountain Underground: fun younger crowd, good après ski spot
- Cecilia’s martini bar and night club
- Tavern Underground: newer bar, small but good vibes

Hikes:
- Mayflower Gulch
- Mohawk lakes
- McCullough Gulch
- Spruce Creek Loop

Things to do in Breck:
- Shop along Main Street
- Skiing
- Snowshoeing
- Dog Sledding
- Snowmobiling
- Hiking
- Ride the gondola to the base of peak 7 or peak 8
- There are activities to do around the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort - depends on the time of year
