Being lactose intolerant means you have a hard time digesting the carbohydrate (called lactose) naturally found in milk.
5 tips to enjoy dairy foods if you are lactose intolerant:
🥛Choose lactose-free milk and milk products. They are real milk products, just without the lactose, and provide the same great nutrients you find in regular dairy foods.
🥛Eat easy-to-digest yogurt with “live, active cultures” to help digest lactose.
🥛Enjoy hard cheeses such as Cheddar or Swiss – which are low in lactose.
🥛Include milk with your meals. This helps give your body more time to digest lactose.
🥛Try small amounts of milk or dairy foods daily and slowly increase the amount over several days or weeks.
