London's newest temporary bus route has been withdrawn today. Route 546 ran between Keston Church and Downe. The route replaced part of route 146. Route 146 normally runs between Bromley North and Downe. SGN gas works meant the 146 was temporarily cut between to Keston Church. Passengers travelling towards Downe High Street can transfer to route 546 at the same stop.
Route 546 was run by Ensign Bus. The route used two Mercedes Sprinter minibuses. These were previously used on First Leicester’s Aircoach service. These buses feature a 2+1 seating arrangement. USB charging is also available.
A round trip is timetabled to take around 15 minutes. The route has no stand time in Downe. Drivers on route 546 cannot leave until the bus on route 146 has arrived at Keston Church. However, route 146 towards Bromley North will not wait for the 546 from Downe.
