At CEDIA 2023, Audiocontrol showcased two groundbreaking behind-the-wall TV solutions: the Bijou 3 and the CXR5. The Bijou 3 is a three-channel amp using GaN (Gallium Nitride) transistor technology, delivering 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 200 watts at 4 ohms. Its compact design allows for placement behind a TV, while an eARC input enables the TV to serve as the source unit for HDMI content. The amp can decode Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, and it comes DIRAC ready for optimal sound configuration.
The CXR5, a full all-in-one receiver, also utilizes GaN technology and offers five output channels at 65 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 130 watts at 4 ohms. It provides multiple video input options, enabling the TV or other sources like Apple TV and Comcast boxes to be the source unit. Like the Bijou 3, it can be controlled via major control systems and a specialized app and is also DIRAC ready.
Both models are designed for ultra-low heat emission, making them ideal for behind-the-TV setups. They will also be available in different rack mount configurations. The GaN technology not only minimizes the size of these units but also significantly improves their efficiency and audio performance. Shipping is targeted for Q1 or Q2 of next year.
