Mahima lives a middle-class lifestyle with her parents and music teacher Gautam. She is in love with a young man Anuraag, whose foster father Pratap is a good friend of Gautam. Both Gautam and Pratap arrange to get the youngsters married. However when they arrive at Prataps house, they meet an open hostility by Prataps wife Shanti, her sons Sukhpal, Shripal and their respective wives Shobha and Suman, who do not approve of Mahima.
