Gloria Fraser, PhD student at Victoria University of Wellington, explains her research on the experiences of queer and transgender people who access mental health support. Queer and transpeople experience higher levels of mental health difficulties than the general population, but from her research, Gloria has found that therapy doesn't always feel like a safe space for this group out of a fear of discrimination.
Recorded in Christchurch at the New Zealand Psychological Society Conference, September 2017, as part of Science Media SAVVY Express.
