"I assume that this action, I call it a special informational, psychological operation, was done on purpose. The beneficiary of this operation is, of course, Russia and its allies or supporters. The purpose of this operation is to lower the level of trust between partners, the United States of America, first of all, and other countries. For me, it is pretty obvious and understandable. I am convinced that our American friends will do everything to find the source of this leak and will also do everything to prevent such operations in the future."

STORYLINE:
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Wednesday he assumed the leak of Pentagon documents relating to Ukraine was "done on purpose".
Reznikov was speaking in Madrid after meeting with his Spanish counterpart.
The leaked slides, which started to appear online last week, were eventually distributed on more mainstream sites such as Twitter
The documents detail U.S. training and equipment schedules to support Ukraine, assessments of losses, what the U.S. is monitoring on key allies and strategic partners, and what moves Russia may be taking to undermine those relationships.
The classified documents - which have not been individually authenticated by U.S. officials - range from briefing slides mapping out Ukrainian military positions to assessments of international support for Ukraine and other sensitive topics.
Reznikov said that the slides were a mix of "truth and not truth" and the leak's purpose was "to lower the level of trust between partners, the United States of America, first of all, and other countries.
He also spoke about military needs for Ukraine's army, saying that the first priority was air defence systems and artillery.
Reznikov said that Ukraine was interested in training its marines with the Spanish Navy.
