This closing session gathers writers and practitioners as they reflect on the act of wandering as constructive visioning and a method for uncovering new ways of thinking and moving. Participants include Pauline Fan, Eddin Khoo, Alfian Sa'at, Nabilah Said, and Nasri Shah.

NASRI SHAH is Curator at the Malay Heritage Centre, where he conducts research and works on exhibitions and community engagement. He has a B.A. and M.A. in History of Art from University College London and his part projects include Women in Action (2018) and Mereka Utusan: Imprinting Malay Modernity (2016).
EDDIN KHOO is a poet, writer, translator, and journalist. He is the founder of PUSAKA, one of the region’s leading cultural centres. He has worked intimately with masters of traditional arts including shadow puppeteers, musicians, dramatists and dancers, researching oral transmission, cultural and religious politics, and aspects of ritual in traditional theatre. In recognition of his work in culture, Eddin was selected as one of the Asians of the Year 2006 by Channel News Asia, Singapore. Eddin Khoo is co-author of a book on traditional Malay woodcarving, The Spirit of Wood, and co-editor of an autobiography of the celebrated Malaysian artist Ibrahim Hussein, entitled Ib: A Life (2010). He has translated works of the Indonesian poet Goenawan Mohamad and the Malaysian poet Latiff Mohidin into English, and the poetry of Christopher Merrill into Malay. He is presently compiling and editing the complete writings of his late father, the Malaysian historian Khoo Kay Kim.
PAULINE FAN is a writer and literary translator. Her translations from German to Malay include works by Bertolt Brecht, Immanuel Kant, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Paul Celan. Her English translations of poems by Sarawak poet Kulleh Grasi, published by Circumference Books, was long-listed for the Best Translated Book Awards 2020. She is the creative director of PUSAKA, serves on the Board of Directors of the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (ITBM), and is Co-Director of the George Town Literary Festival. She is the Malaysian editor of the Berlin-based poetry archive and network, Lyrikline.
ALFIAN SA’AT is the Resident Playwright of Wild Rice. His published works include three collections of poetry: One Fierce, A History of Amnesia and The Invisible Manuscript; a collection of short stories, Corridor; a collection of flash fiction, Malay Sketches; three collections of plays as well as the published play Cooling Off Day. In 2001, Alfian won the Golden Point Award for Poetry as well as the National Arts Council Young Artist Award for Literature. His plays and short stories have been translated in German, Swedish, Danish and Japanese.
NABILAH SAID is a Singapore-based playwright, editor, theatre critic and poet. Her plays have been presented in Singapore and London, including dark comedy Inside Voices, which won the Origins Award for Outstanding New Work at London’s VAULT Festival in 2019. The play was also published by Nick Hern Books. In Singapore, her play, ANGKAT: A Definitive, Alternative, Reclaimed Narrative of a Native, was awarded Best Original Script at the 2020 Life Theatre Awards. She is the founder of playwright collective Main Tulis Group. Nabilah is also the editor of Southeast Asian digital media platform ArtsEquator and was formerly an arts correspondent with The Straits Times.
