Double rex rat, not to be confused with hairless, gives birth to 12 healthy kits. Baby rats aren't called pups, for those who are wondering. This female rat is a double rex. Both of her parents carried the Rex gene, causing her to have patchy/patchwork hair and curly whiskers. It is not advised to breed true hairless females. They often struggle to produce or fail to produce milk. This doe although seemingly hairless, is not of the hairless variety. Father to this litter is a standard Berkshire Rat, a brownish-black with white belly. Please do extensive research before breeding rats. Have homes for up to 15 kits and be sure to have a vet who deals with exotic pets.
