A much-loved guest speaker on the Golden Eagle train, Major Gordon Corrigan MBE, shares the fascinating history of the Romanov Dynasty in this online lecture. Major Corrigan would typically give this lecture on the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express prior to our arrival in Yekaterinburg , where we visit the poignant site where the Romanov, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, was executed with his family by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

The Romanovs ruled Russia for 300 years. They were appointed by God and responsible only to God. There were eighteen Romanov Tsars in total, four of them were women and five of them were murdered. Nine of them married Germans, and one was German. We hope you enjoy this story of an extraordinary dynasty in an extraordinary country, a dynasty that was established in blood and which ended in blood.
