The Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, is insistent. The evidence does not suggest there is a link between falling police officer numbers and rising levels of violent crime. The Metropolitan Police already has teams dedicated to targeting violent offenders across London. And as ITV News London reporter Sam Holder found out, they are extremely busy in communities where stabbings and shootings have become commonplace.
