The Israeli military has seized a demilitarised buffer zone in the occupied Golan Heights as the Assad regime falls in Damascus.
Following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the 50-year-old “disengagement agreement” between the two countries had collapsed and Israeli troops had been deployed to protect the area from “hostile forces”.
