A news clip vid now featuring the return to steam of class A4 4468 Mallard. This loco broke the world speed record for steam traction in 1938 in attaining 126mph down Stoke Bank with an Up Road special working. The big end went on the loco and she came off at Peterborough rather than running all the way up to Kings Cross. In the early 1980s she was repaired by her owners the National Railway Museum and returned to main line running. She worked various railtours until 1989 and has basically been in retirement since.
