Karl Marx is famous for labeling religion "the opiate of the masses", which has the support of many philosophers, yet the masses continue to demonize him for this observation. The answer to the obesity epidemic was solved decades ago when doctors advised us to eat healthier, reduce our portions and exercise more, yet the masses refuse to believe this or take responsibility for their own self-destructive habits. The majority of scientists agree that global warming is exacerbated by our reliance on fossil fuels, yet a large portion of the general public denies it.
