Last video we did a poor workaround on the Hatch Brace install. It was no where near ideal and did about 30% of the job it was designed to do.
However persistence and a need for perfection kept us on the lookout for alternative mount points to get the brace to do the job PROPERLY. And it paid off. While looking thru the body repair manuals and structural diagram of the Octavia 5E, we found what looked like the same mount points as in the Golf Platform Cars. And since these cars are all MQB, the structural members should be the same. That said, my dear friend Arush from Autopsyche gladly offered to take apart his trunk lining to see if the mount points we discovered on the diagrams are actually there on the chassis. Its not an easy job to remove the liner as you literally got to rip it all out to get to it. But he did it and voila, there they were. Since he's also the RacingLine dealer, he got in touch with RacingLine and confirmed if we could use the mounts we found to install the brace.
Next up was a quick inspection on my car followed by an install of the brace.
Now I'm never the one to boast about #FirstInIndia types, but truly this is the #FirstInTheWorld install of the #RacingLine Hatch Brace on a #Skoda #OctaviaRS and #Octavia5E chassis..
