“Les Patineurs”
Composer: Émile Waldteufel 【France】
Conductor: Yu Ji
“Les Patineurs” is Waldteufel’s most widely known waltz work. In this piece, the composer cleverly combines the two most popular recreational activities in Paris in the second half of the nineteenth century, namely ice skating and ballroom dancing, in the form of the Viennese waltz, thus depicting vividly the scenes of people skating in the ice rink and celebrating the joyous winter season.
