On the debate tonight, India's fastest woman and India's first openly gay sportsperson Dutee Chand who has won 2 silver medals at the Asian Games 2018. She has said that she has found her soulmate who is a girl from her own village in Odisha's Jajpur.
Dutee was forced to come out to her family because her sister who was aware of the relationship was blackmailing her for money. Her family after that claimed that her relationship will never be accepted and that she has been misled by her lover.
While her relationship is being shunned by her family back at home, she is being hailed across the world for being openly gay. Dutee's relationship has reopened the LGBTQ debate.
