A recent report released during the third edition of the 'Budget Watch' initiative, organized by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), revealed that only 25 percent of private sector projects outlined in the government's budget for fiscal year 2023/24 have been fully implemented. The 'Budget Watch' program, which serves as a platform for public-private dialogue, is dedicated to ensuring the successful execution of policies and programs directly related to the private sector and the economy.
The inaugural event of this year's 'Budget Watch' was held on Wednesday, where CNI published a comprehensive booklet covering various topics related to the economy and the private sector as announced in the budget for the current fiscal year 2024/25. The booklet provides an in-depth analysis of the budget's impact on the private sector and offers creative support to the government in its budget implementation efforts.
Speaking at the event, Radhika Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in achieving the goals outlined in the budget. Aryal reiterated the need for a concerted effort between the government and the private sector to ensure that the budget's policies and programs are effectively implemented to boost the economy.
