Snowdon is the busiest mountain in the United Kingdom 582,000 people visiting annually.
The summit can be reached by a number of paths, and by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, a rack railway opened in 1896 which carries passengers the 4.7 miles (7.6 km) from Llanberis to the summit station (summer only). The summit also houses a cafe called Hafod Eryri, open only when the railway is operating; it opened in 2009 to replace one built in the 1930s. The mountain was used by Edmund Hillary in training for the 1953 ascent of Mount Everest.
Want a route with fantastic views? The Watkin Path maybe for you starting at approx 200ft above sea level its the path with the most ascent but apart from a short scree section near the top its a very clear path to follow. It starts off passing through a wood before opening into a valley with big views and massive waterfalls before getting into more mountainous ground and eventually arriving at the summit.
Note there are steep drops and you will require some degree of fitness and the correct clothes. Your responsible for your own safety so make sure you have done good research and have the correct gear.
