Romesh Nalliah, D.D.S., MHCM, is the associate dean for Patient Services and Clinical Professor of Dentistry, at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. His research focuses on dental healthcare, hospital, and educational processes with the goal to improve patient care delivery and outcomes. Preventative dental care is important, and poor gum and periodontal health have been associated with worsening cardiovascular health, diabetes, and pregnancy-related issues. In this video, he discusses the need to connect oral health to systemic health and the impacts both have on a patient’s overall well-being.
