GetSportsFocus.com - SJSU LB Keith Smith wrapped up his college career as the 2013 NCAA FBS Tackle Leader. He started all 12 games and racked up 159 tackles (13.25 avg./game), 78 solo and 8 tackle for loss.
As a four year starter, Smith finished his Spartan career with 476 total tackles, 231 solo and 245 assist. He became the 3rd FBS player in NCAA history to record 2 games of 20+ tackles and 1st to do it in back-to-back games with career-best 21 tackles VS Minnesota on 9/21/13 and 20 tackles a week later against Utah State.
Keith Smith started in 45 out of 50 games during his four years at SJSU. Proficient and experienced in both 4-3 and 3-4 defensive schemes, Smith had 2 streaks where he played 600 consecutive snaps as a Spartan.
A team captain known for his post play celebratory acts, Keith Smith made his mark in SJSU Football history as one of the most entertaining and charismatic player of all time.
